There were 180 loads of weeds removed from the lake this summer. Most of the weeds were removed from Watkins lake East as usual. There was a weed explosion in May and June and we were hard pressed to keep up. By the middle of July we were caught up and could spend more time in shallower areas and around docks. The large majority of the weeds were Eurasian Milfoil with very little Starry Stonewort being harvested.

Other Harvesting Companies in the area also reported much heavier than usual weed growth this spring and early summer. The wet and cool spring may be a reason. We will be launching the harvester in May of next season to get a jump on cutting.

The harvester and shore conveyors have been pulled and will be winterized in the next week. The equipment worked well this summer with only a few issues.
